Accessibility

The standard this site is built to, how it is tested, and who to tell when something does not work.

The standard

We build this site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, and we are still closing gaps. Pages are built to work with a keyboard, headings and landmarks are in order, images carry text descriptions, form fields have visible labels, and motion is turned off for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.

How it is tested

On October 10, 2026 every page of the site was checked with automated accessibility tools, and the main page types were walked through with a keyboard. Most of the problems found in that pass were fixed the same day, and the rest are listed below. Automated tools do not catch everything, so we also rely on people telling us what they run into.

Limits we know about

  • Some documents from brick makers are scanned pages with no text layer, so a screen reader cannot read them. The key figures from those documents are also on the maker pages as ordinary text and tables.
  • Text set over a photograph is checked by eye for contrast, since tools cannot measure it reliably.
  • The factory video on the King Klinker page and the company video on the About page have no spoken words, so they carry no captions. The text beside each one says what it shows.
  • On the comparison pages some links show a web address as their text, and some document links are named only by their file type.
  • The site has not yet been tested with a screen reader or on every phone and browser.
