Every size and shape we carry
Columbia Business Center, Eagan, Minnesota. King Klinker thin brick.
Every size to one scale.
Length by height, the way the makers publish them. Thickness runs 1/2 in. to 1 in. and is set by the maker, not the size.
Every corner to one scale.
The face, then the return that turns the corner, folded flat beside it. Drawn at the scale of the sizes above.

The matrix is the mortar joint.
In a precast panel there is no mortar. The concrete cast against the back of the brick fills the joint the liner leaves, so the color and finish of that concrete, the matrix, reads as the mortar line on the building. A light matrix lifts a dark brick. A dark matrix pulls the same brick darker. The joint width and the joint profile the liner forms change it again, and so do the sandblast, the acid etch and the wash the plant gives the panel.
That is why PCI wants final color approval on a cast sample, not a brick board. The sample shows the joint the concrete makes, the profile the liner makes and what the finishing does to both.

Corners, backs and thickness.
| Special shapes named in RP 152-25 | Corners, edge caps and edge-cap corners. |
|---|---|
| Corner units | L-shaped, so the return at an outside corner reads as full brick. |
| Back surface textures | Scored, Combed, Wire roughened, Ribbed, Keybacked, Dovetailed |
| Pull-out strength | Not less than 150 psi from the base concrete, before and after freeze thaw |

Common questions.
- What thin brick sizes are available?
- Advanced distributes thin brick from five makers in nine face sizes: Roman, modular, Norman, Meridian, King, Expanded Modular, closure, utility and triple. Which maker carries which size is listed on this page.
- How thick is thin brick?
- Between 1/2 in. and 1 in. under the PCI specification for embedded clay thin brick. Thickness is held to plus zero, minus 1/16 in., because the liner has to seat the brick at a consistent depth for the joint to read evenly.
- Do you have corner pieces?
- Yes. Corner units are L-shaped so an outside corner reads as full brick with no panel edge showing. Many colors in the catalog come with matching corners, and your rep confirms which before you order.
- Can I get a size that matches an existing building?
- Often, yes. Some lines are made to a stated dimension for match work, and a custom formliner can be tooled to the coursing and joint of the existing wall. Send a photograph or a measured course height and your rep will tell you what is achievable.
